Kim B. Hawkins, Director, Business Resource Center is a lifelong resident of the Greater Hartford area. She received her early childhood education in Hartford and satisfied her secondary requirements and graduated from Bloomfield High School. A Tuskegee (Institute) University graduate, Kim received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with additional studies at Trinity, Construction Institute and other career related courses.

Ms. Hawkins has a solid construction background having worked in a family owned construction business. She joined HEDCo in 1995 and held her position there until her appointment to the position of the Business Resource Center. As Director of the Business Resource Center, Ms. Hawkins is responsible for the provision of resources that will enable entrepreneurs to be successful at every level of the small business experiences. A believer and builder of collaborations, Ms. Hawkins has brought together a diverse group of technical assistance providers, entrepreneurs, construction associations, labor unions and funders to meet the needs of those actively seeking assistance to achieve success in their business objectives.

Kim Hawkins resides in Bloomfield CT with her two sons Ryan and Justin. She is active in many civic organizations and enjoys liturgical dance, reading and all sports.
